As an automated welding technician and consultant, I applaud the design and functionality of the Hex-Hut™ welding shelter. It's user friendly design and self supporting cleat allow for quick and safe set up regardless of the height of the pipe or the slope and condition of the terrain. This translates into less down time for the welders maximizing their welding time.

My first experience with the Hex-Hut Shelter System was at the Cold Lake Project in Alberta, Canada using the Magnatech Pipeliner welding systems. Two labourers had no trouble moving sets of 2 Hex-Hut’s in leapfrog fashion to stay ahead of the scheduled production of each welding system. Adaptability from working at ground level to use in the piping racks was a huge plus. The Hex-Huts worked perfectly in harsh, windy and wet conditions. Clever new ideas have added to the Hex-Hut’s utility and mobility as compared to the competitor’s product. As a result, I am recommending the Hex-Hut Shelter System to all my contacts for future projects.

CSO Safety - Encana Corportation AB
Managers responsible for welding crews should take a good look at the Hex-Hut, especiall in light of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Bill C-45 which hold CEO's and supervisory personnel responsible for the safety of their workers.  A safety assessment I did for Hex-Hut a few years back, looked at operability and potential hazards related to ventilation, work area congestion, electrical shock form overhead lines, pinch or crush, and slip-trip-fall, on the scale of 0-to-20 where lower numbers represent lower risk.  While the steel sheds scored 14's and 16's, Hex-Hut scored mostly sixes and never higher than eleven.  If a steel shed fell on a person, it could result in death. With a Hex-Hut, I could never see anything more serious happening than medical aid, and only infrequently - like if someone slips while setting it up.

We used the first prototype Hex-Hut ever built and have been using the Hex-Hut system ever since.  There is nothing out there that even comes close.
